Las Gangas Mural – Franklin: The Mural as a Place of Encounter
At Trama, we led the comprehensive development of a large-scale, participatory artistic intervention at the Las Gangas Commercial Center, in the heart of Barrio Franklin. Bringing together mural artists, local merchants, residents, and technical teams, the project bridged territorial research, collaborative design, mural execution, and ongoing documentary recording.

This methodology allowed us to unpack the historical and everyday layers of local commerce, framing the urban space not as a nostalgic relic of the past, but as an active, evolving urban fabric where traditional trades, resilience, and new communities coexist.
The initiative strengthened the collective identity of the sector and fostered community ownership of public space, opening a meaningful dialogue between neighborhood heritage and its future projection. Spanning five months of fieldwork, the project established trust between merchants and creators, resulting in a high-standard mural complemented by a short documentary that captures the voices and process of those who shape the territory daily.
