ONAVALE – Bugabri, Australia

A territorial interpretation project developed from Chile for an Indigenous landscape in Australia, commissioned on the strength of Trama's creative and methodological reputation.

Client

Whitehaven

Location

Bugabri, Australia

Duration

2025 – ongoing

Current stage

Design and strategic plan completed

As Trama, we developed the interpretive signage proposal for Bugabri — beginning the process through deep listening and research into the Gomeroi Indigenous worldview. We brought together conceptual vision, interpretation criteria, and design guidelines into a coherent proposal: rigorous, site-specific, and culturally grounded.

The project has completed its prospecting phase, with designs and strategic implementation plan fully developed — establishing a robust conceptual and operational foundation for execution. The final stage will bring that situated knowledge to life through the physical implementation of the signage across the territory.

The Trama team designed interpretation panels for an Indigenous cultural heritage precinct in Boggabri, Australia. Not only are the designs beautiful, but the team understood our vision immediately, and delivered a product that celebrates the deep history of the local Gomeroi people and their close connection to Country. We will be looking for more opportunities to collaborate with Trama.
